Better Back It Up April 17, 2008

Remember the days when you could back up your files all on a CD, or even way back in the day, a snazzy square disk? Well, they’re long gone, and it’s time to find an easier solution. I’ve been backing up my files and pictures across a barrage of CD’s for years, and they’re starting to pile up, and the process is downright tedious. Plus, I’ve got a bunch tunes to back up now. So, it’s time to splurge and get a USB drive.
Gigs of Storage – Tiny as a Pen
In my search for a new USB drive I found a cool site that has quite a selection. I went with the pen drive. They’re quite snazz and they just fit in your pocket. Here’s the site:

Just One More Slice of Cheese Before Bed April 14, 2008

A great way to put on a few overnight-pounds is to scarf down cheese before bed. Last night I devoured two sizeable slices of cheese, just before hitting the pillow. This morning when I awoke, I weighed in two pounds heavier. (If you’re wondering what kind of cheese it was – extra sharp cheddar of course. Is there another kind?)
Tonight, I scarfed a trio of cheesy splendors and I’m just about ready to zonk.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not a portly fellow. I just dabble into a few a choice slices before bedtime every now and then. With that in mind, whether you’re looking to put on a few pounds while you sleep or aiming to get your daily dose of solidified cow juice – I’d suggest you try it. Who knows where such cheesy times can lead…
Tomatoes or Ultimatums? April 10, 2008

Back in the day, as a young lad, I would wreak a bit of havoc here and there. Nothing too crazy… tantrums at the mall… running around the neighborhood yelling… 6 hour stand-offs with veggies at the dinner table. And in the thick of it all was Mom. Of course, she would try to tame the outbursts and get me to eat my veggies and so forth. Then there was me. A defiant lad. A stubborn young fellow. The more she pushed, the more I pushed back. Then came the threats…
I’m gonna leave this town forever and then you’ll be sorry.
Don’t give me any ultimatums!
Ultimatums? What on earth where those? Some strange sort of tomato? Was this a hidden connection with my uneaten veggies a few days prior? Then the insults…
I don’t like you one bit!
Don’t you talk back to me, she’d say.
Don’t you talk back to me, I’d reply.
Then this would carry on, long after I was sent to my room, until I was far too horsed to dish out the “ultimatums.”
Of course, being a stubborn young lad it took me years to finally ask what an ultimatum was. During those years, I took comfort in the fact that every time I saw tomatoes on my plate I’d stare them down, then glance over at Mom with a look that said – that’s right, I’ll stare them down for hours, I’m not going anywhere near those “ultimatums.”
Who is that wedding ring for? April 7, 2008

I’ve been with my woman for about five years now. That’s quite awhile if you ask me. We’ve discussed the topic of holy matrimony, but ever-so-lightly… which is fine by me. Some day it will occur, but there things we both need to accomplish before hand. I guess its good we both we understand that one too.
Anyways, the other day I came home to find her perusing the Web for wedding rings. the only puzzler being – they were for me. What the? I didn’t even realize you could do that. Of course, fellas wear the ring, but I kind of just assumed that it was somehow part of “the process.” Which is to say that maybe it comes with the invites, bouquets or Great Aunt Tilda just picks one from the registry. Turns out, I know less about rings then I do about flowers – yikes… You learn something new everyday. Here’s the site: www.eternaltungsten.com

Why Must I Print Out Everything? April 4, 2008

… because I’ve got to. I always have to print out everything. Sure, I could store it on my laptop, but there’s just something about having that concrete sheet in hand. Paper is easier to read than a laptop computer screen, and I can just fold it up and slide it right into my pocket. I create lists… lots of them… and I can’t exactly bring my laptop in my pocket. I guess when it comes down to it, sometimes the ‘ole fashioned technology-free way just seems to work best.
Progressive Printer Ink?
There is just one problem… printer ink. I’m constantly running out of printer ink. If I can go two months on one ink cartridge, then that’s crazy long. I have become a master at knowing when the ink truly will run out, as opposed to when the “ink alert” comes on.
… and since I’ve become quite knowledgeable on the topic of printer ink, I’ve found a great site that has a vast selection and great customer service – www.compimaging.com
I’m Tired of Eating on the Floor April 3, 2008

Alright, I don’t exactly eat on the floor. I’ve got a set of those folding trays, that actually work quite well for when I want to scarf down some grub while I’m watching the game. Every night though???… it just isn’t enough.
Hoist My Eating Haven
So I’m on the prowl for a spiffy new kitchen table. I’ve tried craigslist, which usually pulls through for me, but to no avail… perhaps it’s timing. I’m in a rush now, it’s been almost a year and no kitchen table – that’s enough. I need one and I need one now.
Vintage Vestibules?
So, I’ve been doing some extensive searches. I’m a fan of the vintage style, but not a fan that vintage style scent… you know of mildew mania. Most of the modern style furniture out there is chock-full of saw dust. I literally stumbled across this site and was quite impressed with there selection. I found a superb kitchen table that I’m quite amped about. I also got a little crazy and ended up getting a bar as well.

Swing for the Greens My Friend! April 1, 2008

A day on the golf course is always refreshing. Of course, my skills are sub par, but I when the sun is primed and the greens are fresh, it’s just superb to be out there.
Golf on the Range
Today’s venture was a solo one, so I took to the driving range. Now, I wouldn’t admit this to my golfing buddies, but the range is probably my favorite part of the golf course. Why? Most times, I just don’t have the patience, to rattle off a round of 18, or even 9 for that matter, but I do… just for the chillin’ aspect of it all. Also, there’s something therapeutic about swinging away on the range. I don’t really use it for practice either. Mostly for releasing some pent up stress.
Speaking of golf courses ‘n such, I discovered quite a comprehensive list of public golf courses throughout the U.S.
